Our Optometry office has invested in state of the art diagnostic imaging technology to allow earlier detection and better management of eye diseases such as glaucoma, macular degeneration and diabetic retinopathy.
A complete vision examination includes the measurement of the eyes’ refractive conditions such as hyperopia, myopia, astigmatism, presbyopia and amblyopia. The health of the eyes is also assessed which includes an examination of eye movement, a slit lamp examination, a measurement of the intraocular pressure and a dilated fundus exam.
The Optical Coherence Tomographer takes 45 thousand scans per second of the retina and optic nerve. These scans are analyzed by advanced computer technology to produce a 3 dimensional image of the layers of the retina and optic nerve. This allows our Optometrists to view the retina and optic nerve in microscopic detail. See www.optomap.com for details.
Additional vision exams are also performed for glaucoma, age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, hypertensive retinopathy, dry eyes, inflammation and infections within the eye.
